This consultation group is designed for BIPOC therapists who would like to deepen their clinical skills and learn how to integrate EMDR into their clinical practice.
The structure of the consultation group will involve case consultation, practice, and case presentations. Participants will get the most out of this consultation group by arriving with questions and case material (process notes are encouraged). Come prepared to engage in hands-on, collaborative practice of EMDR in a collegial, judgment-free zone.
Dr. Alpern is an EMDRIA-approved consultant and participants will receive 10 hours of group consultation to apply toward EMDRIA certification.
Note* If you plan to request a recommendation letter to apply for EMDRIA certification, please note that I require a minimum of 6 hours of individual consultation and work samples of all 8 Phases and 3 Prongs of standard EMDR therapy, in addition to evidence of correcting any concerns prior to writing a recommendation letter for EMDRIA Certification. My role as your consultant is to evaluate your proficiency and fidelity to the standard EMDR therapy and your awareness of situations in which modifications to standard EMDR therapy are necessary in order to safely and effectively treat the client.
